FORTY OF THE BEST - CHARITY ART AUCTION & EXHIBITION
In aid of the Crookwell District Community Trust (CDCT)
April 23 through April 25
If Santa brought you the wrong things once again this year don't worry, the 2nd Biennial 'Forty of the Best' Invitational Art Exhibition is set to open on Friday April 23, 2010 at the Crookwell Memorial Hall. The exhibition/auction will feature 40 works for auction and a further 80 works for general sale.
The exhibition is limited to 40 artists and will include Archibald winners Adam Cullen and Cherry Hood, Archibald finalist Max Cullen (actor/painter/sculptor) and Margarita Georgiadis, exciting young Sydney artist Ben Frost, internationally known artists Graeme Townsend of South Australia and John Dawson from the USA. In support of these artists will be a further 33 excellent local and regional artists.
The auction side of the event will be opened by the Hon Katrina Hodgekinson, the member for Burrinjuck and is jointly sponsored by the CWA Day Branch, Rotary, Crookwell and District Arts Society, Country Energy, Crookwell Hall Committee, ArtHead, Upper Lachlan Shire Council, Trinity College, Landmark, Art & Australia and the Crookwell Gazette.
The exhibition will open for public viewing on Friday April 23 at 6pm with drinks and an introduction by Mr Tim McCarthy, President of the CDCT. This will be followed by a three course 'Tapas' meal at Catherine's CBD - cost $40 pp. Bookings can be made with Tim McCarthy 4832 2055 - 88 Goulburn St Crookwell.
The auction side of the event will be held on Saturday April 24 at 2pm. The public is welcome to view the work for auction and on exhibition from 10am.
The exhibition will also be open on Sunday April 25 from 10-2pm.
